Boring Old fartz Whistle In the Wind Rally 16th – 18th June 2006

For those that have never been to the Boring Old Fartz rally, then you are definitely missing out, it a big rally with a small rally feel, The location is perfect about 30 seconds away from J3 of the M42 in a huge area, no cramped camping, with enough room to create your own circle of tents with you mates should you wish to do so,
So first job of the day was a trip around the campsite to get incriminating err I mean general pictures of people and their bikes, where I managed to have fits of stops and starts, as I ended up chatting rather than taking pictures, this is one of the great things about this rally, people will talk to anyone, even me!, Five laps of the campsite later and I had gotten most of my pictures, and a quick note to the Ali Bongos here, ‘Do not camp in the furthest most isolated corner of the field again, you nearly broke me getting over to you’ all that space and you camp in another time zone.
The Past its Mcc were a plenty, and seemed a bit to well behaved for a change, maybe the heat had zapped their energy, along with everyone else’s, I had missed the girl from the Jailers Mcc doing a pole dance on the goal at the end of the rugby field, and I believe from the many discussions I overheard, that is was very good indeed. I bumped into Ricky and his merry band of reprobates, but luckily his insect repellent (Alcohol) meant that he didn’t get bitten once the entire weekend. Lynne and the Thunder city lads were there with some real Smart bikes. And one of the biggest tents I have ever seen.
Anyone there couldn’t fail to have missed Chunder-Woman dressed in Pink tights, flowered shorts and pink pants on the outside, she stood out like, well, A thing that stands out, which means that when the silly games started she was an obvious candidate, they started with the board game where four people have the feet strapped to a board and have to walk it down the field, with 2 facing forward and two facing backward, which led to much screaming and swearing between team mates, a few more games followed and ended up with the ‘catch an egg on your head’ game.
Four of the BOF ladies had been taught to belly dance by professional belly dancers, and performed this on stage, and what a cracking job of it they did as well, they were followed by the professional belly dancers.
Siy who runs Satan’s Brew Rockshow provided music when the bands weren’t playing, the bands started off with  Broken Faith, followed by The Handsome Beasts and finally Iron Horse.
With the entertainment in full flow, and the heat cooling down a bit, the evening was perfect.
A big thank you to those members of the Boring Old Fartz who worked hard organising all this, once again it was a job well done.
