The 100% Biker Forum Members Party organised by JonnyFP has been building up for a while now, The venue was The Plough at Arncott (Oxford), this turned out to be a fine venue, with camping available and a hotel down the road, the choice of accommodation was perfect.
There was a good list of people promising to turn up, and turn up they did, A fantastic turn out (especially considering the weather).
The Stars of the show were to be Dougie and Fran who have been Forum Members for a long time, but alas have been unable to make some of the previous parties, But this was about to change.
When we first arrived we noticed a Telly Tubby putting a tent up and thought we were in the wrong place, but after Jay convinced us that it was only Freak, we were settling down to some abuse and piss-taking. There was also one forum member who was knocking to get into the pub from 9am(ish) and being the oldest forum member at 106 years old Kingo's liver has lasted well considering the amount of time he must spend in pubs.
Suddenly the voices started
and the Real Ale and Snowballs were calling us into the den of iniquity.
and from this point onwards people started rolling in at a steady pace. taking their seats (and falling off them in some cases, eahh Forest Fred). This was followed by Gossip, Beer, Piss-Taking and general Silliness (but not necessarily in that order). Puppy Hugger, Vodka 2 and Spike rolled in and the silliness got even sillier, and the lovely Womble Lancs arrived and cheered everyone up.
As the day rolled on more and more people arrived and the place got busier Forest Fred fell of his chair much to the amusement of everyone, drinking dancing music and food were partaken in,
Dougie and Fran arrived and everyone was buzzing round them trying to get a glimpse, they dutifully signed autographs and posed for photos (one of them reluctantly), they had flew down from scotland to be there, Shep and Baglady who not only collected them from the airport, but put them up as well and deserve a big thanks, especially as so many people were looking forward to meeting them, and they did not disappoint, both real nice people (see we didn't bite ;-) ).
The Forum Gift, This tradition goes back quite a long way, this 'Item' is bestowed from one member to another upon a gathering of forum members, the gift then should be worn by that member for the rest of the evening. Each member then adds a bit of themselves to the gift and a new owner is chosen, once the gift has been received by one person, they will never own it again, and this time it was Freaks turn, he looked so proud upon receiving the 'Gift' and i fear that he may want to keep it for longer.
There was an impromptu playing of mandolin and guitar by STEViE and JonnyFP which attracted a large audience, followed by the band, and then a raffle with STEViE impatiently reading the numbers out and Mia organising the prizes (once again it was a fix because I did not win), It turns out that it was also Yambabe's birthdays and a couple of cakes appeared and quickly disappeared again.
JonnyFP and Mia announced their engagement with a party to be taking place at this years NABD at Cornbury Park.
The night gets blurry from this point onwards, (ohh did i mention that Forest Fred fell of his chair - Sober) and I Have a few personal comments left to add
