This was not the first rally at The MFN but it was the first for Malc Allured the owner and ex drummer of Showaddywaddy, along with his son Lee and Lyn and John they organized it, and apart from the weather being a little inclement to say the least everyone who attended I think will agree they did a really grand job. Malc has been at the MFN for about 6 years he holds bike nights on Monday and Wednesdays and also Cruise Notts on Sunday and Fridays, they also have bands on for free in the week.
Thursday evening saw them all putting the finishing touches to the preparations for the weekend ahead.
Then on Friday morning as folk arrived they prepared for TFX playing in a trailer outside in the day and in the evening we were entertained by Malc (Duke) and the lads doing what he does best playing the drums, and the evening was played out by V8 and the disco.
Saturday saw a brighter start to the day and more people arrived, in the afternoon they had more bands playing outside in the trailer, namely Junction and Dosh, also the air guitar contest took place and Daniel, Candice and the 2 girls Louise and Stephanie really put their all into it, the winner was the 2 girls with their rendition of Smoke on the Water, but as the clouds gathered it was decided to take Dosh and the equipment inside and so they finished their set indoors and played till about 10 then the raffle was drawn before the final band Totally Obscene played until the end of the night, followed by the disco until close.
Although attendance was a bit on the low side I’m sure this can only get better. So here’s to the next one, well done guys, see you next year.
The name will remain the same so check out the website at www.mfn-club.co.uk for all the latest news at the M.F.N.
