The Ali Bongos never cease to amaze me, once again they succesfully put on yet another party, and what a party it was, now personally I believe that the Ali Bongos have some sort of we know how to party 'Pixie Dust' and sprinkle it everywhere each time they have an event, all there events seem effortlessly organised and trouble free, although I think this is not the case and they just hide it well. and if you have never been to an Alibongos show or party then you really are missing out on something special,
The Good The Bad and The Bongos was the title of this years Halloween party held at Evesham football club on Saturday 29th October, it was fancy dress with a hero and villians theme to it. The quality of fancy dress was fantastic and there were two prizes for best fancy dress along with a raffle.
I got there early (nothing unusual there then) and due to the amount of costumes I felt naked in my normal clothes, and i had even left Shirley at home, but i manged to find my rubber aviator helmet I had purchased the previous week in blackpool as soom sort of saving grace, but it had the acoustic properties of a errr, well a non acoustic thing, and made the sound of the music distorted and louder than the voices in my head, and I really didnt know which I should be listening to.
There wer two bands on, the first was Stitch and they were only a very young band getting started. but boy can they play, at one point we didnt realise the band had started and thought we were listening to a CD playing, they really were that good. these were followed up by Bang-on and although they were very good the first act was a hard act to follow, and I personally found it harder to appreciate them.
The raffle and best fancy dress was drawn half way through the second bands set, and I am so glad I didnt have to judge the best fancy dress costume as there was many fine costumes there, My favourites were Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn (complete with cut neck), Blade (jr), Cruella DeVil and a Batman and Robin duo, but alas there were only two prizes and they went to the (both well deserved) Cruella DeVil and Cat Woman.
There was a great turn out and people kept rolling up, with memebers of the Past Its Mcc, Boring Old Fartz Mcc and Barkin Mad Mcc present as well, the venue was busy both inside and out, spirits were high, beer was flowing, fancy dress was brilliant, and all i can say is well done once again to the Ali Bongos for yet another fine event check out their website for up coming events http://www.alibongos-mcc.org.uk/
