this is my hotrod chopper named Harlow Davidon which i finnished building in may this year.the bike was built using a 94 sportster which had been involved in a heavy frontender,i bought it as salvage .the bike uses a cobra frame which was built to my spec with 36 degree rake and 4inch stretch in the front tubes ,the forks are stock sportster with 6 over tubes and at the moment im running with a stock motor but this will be upgraded over the winter .i had to get a loan to build this bike and used as many secondhand parts as i could to stay within my budget, ebay was a good source and i also picked up smaller bits and pieces while in daytona last year at swap meets etc,the rear fender struts i made by cutting up a hanging basket from the garden centre and welding mounts in place, your local garden centre has loads of metal ware for making things out of.the wheels use stock but pollished hubs and powdercoated rims with chrome spokes, tyres are maxxis classic white walls from jp cycles in the us and a real pain to keep looking good because of the brakedust,so i try not to use the brakes.the seat was from the jammer handbook via custom chrome and its not to bad a ride if the road surface is ok otherwise its like riding a pogo stick, the tank is stock king sportster but with raised tunnel to give the bike the correct stance .the bike handles very well and has been recieved very well at local custom/classic shows this year there hasnt been another bike remotely like it. |
